Repair Policies
Clear, straightforward guidelines for service, repair, and pickup.
Service Overview
The following policies apply to all machines received for evaluation and repair. These guidelines are in place to ensure clear communication and consistent service.
Evaluation & Approval
All machines are evaluated prior to repair. Additional issues may be identified once service begins.
Any recommended work beyond the initial scope will be communicated, and approval will be obtained before proceeding.
Pre-Existing Conditions
Machines are accepted based on their current visible condition. Some issues may not be apparent at the time of intake.
Additional problems may be discovered during service, including worn, damaged, or previously altered components. West Valley Sewing Machine Service is not responsible for pre-existing conditions or failures related to normal wear, prior repairs, or hidden defects.
Focused/Limited Repairs
When appropriate, specific issues may be addressed without performing a full service. These repairs are limited to the identified problem and do not include full machine cleaning or preventative maintenance.
Additional Cleaning
Machines requiring extensive cleaning due to heavy lint buildup, insects, rodent activity, or other contamination may incur additional charges.
Customers will be notified and approval obtained before any additional work is performed. Service may be declined for machines that present a health or safety concern.
Turnaround Time
Repair times vary based on machine condition, workload, and parts availability. Estimated timelines may be provided but are not guaranteed.
Payment
Payment is due upon completion of service unless otherwise arranged. Machines will not be released until payment is received in full.
Appointments
All visits are by appointment, including drop-offs and pickups. Customers must contact in advance to schedule.
Abandoned Equipment
Customers will be notified when their machine is ready for pickup using the contact information provided at intake. Reasonable efforts will be made to contact the customer.
Machines not picked up within 30 days of notification that the machine is ready for pickup may be subject to a storage fee of $25 per day.
Machines left unclaimed for 90 days after notification, without response or payment, will be considered abandoned and may be sold or disposed of to recover costs.
The customer is responsible for providing accurate contact information and responding to service notifications.
